So I love blog hops. I participate in one already and decided to start another! This one is all about the group I belong to, the West Coast Creators. It consists of my upline Angela, my downlines Lisa and Devyn, and my sidelines Sarah and Shanda (who is on holidays right now and not participating this month). We decided to feature Stampin’ Blendabilities this month because we’ve all been having a lot of fun (and learning) with them. If you’re not familiar with Blendabilities, they’re alcohol based markers that are completely unlike our Stampin’ Write markers you can’t even really compare them. There’s so many ways to use these great markers, from wonderful and easy colouring of stamped images to colorizing embellishments and more. The first card I used the single stamp “Snapshot” that I got as a giveaway at convention. I wanted this stamp sooooo bad, and I’m so excited that I got it free! I used it as a sample when I was showing a friend how to use Blendabilities, and then it sat on my desk for weeks. I finally pulled it out, added some embellishments and made this card, and I’m glad I did.
As you can see, I used Crystal Effects to create a gloss on the lens, and coloured a few pearls with Blendabilities, as well as the retired metal frame for my sentiment. I LOVE that you can colorize pretty much anything with these markers and have them match the Stampin’ Up! colours. I also made a coordinating envelope with the envelope punch board.
My second card is for a little girl with a birthday coming up. The focal image looks just like her, and I love these cute little faces. Unfortunately they’re sold out photopolymers, so they aren’t available anymore, but you can get the frames and the similar boy set still!
I used Versamark and clear embossing powder to add some shine to just the image part of the frame, some quick stamping and punching for the banner, and this card was done! It was so fun and easy to make, I think the longest part was deciding which faces should go where. The envelope got some stamping too, and it’s off to the mail box!
