This month’s Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop is all about Christmas! Ok, and Thanksgiving for my American friends. If you haven’t wandered around a hop before, you can follow the “previous” and “next” buttons at the bottom of the post to go round and round to check out everyone else’s projects.
You’ve probably come here from Jackie’s blog if you’re following the hop, and if so, welcome! Wasn’t her post fantastic?
I’ve been playing more and more with the Stampin’ Up! thin lit cards. They make fancy flip card so easy! I just did a whole class on them, so I thought I’d share a couple of the cards we made.
This first one is a CASE straight from the catalogue, featuring the snowflake thin lit card and coordinating Letterpress Winter stamp set. Some pretty designer series paper (ask your demonstrator how you can get six packs of the DSP of your choice FREE), bling, washi, and done!
Then I switched to the circle thin lit card, which is in the annual catalogue. I used the colours from the DSP for the Festival of Trees stamp set (and coordinating punch), kept the coordination going through with washi tape, and a touch of bling of course, because I can.
This next one has WAY more room for writing, which can be good or bad. It’s easy to extend the card by just threading the paper over the edge of the thin lit instead of under it. If that’s confusing, take a look around YouTube, there’s lots of examples on there!
I hope you enjoyed my projects, go ahead and check out the rest of the Water Cooler projects by following along the hop to Jackie or Gail’s projects, and check out the main blog to see everyone listed. If you’d like to learn how to make any of the projects on the hop, or buy any of the products we’ve showcased, contact your demonstrator today!
Stefanie, these are gorgeous. I love them all.
as always, your projects are really great, Stefanie!! I love the colors you chose for your cards too.
Nice cards, Stefanie! Love the snowflake thinlet–you may have convinced me to purchase…
I Love the Thinlits, I haven't bought the snowflake one but I'm adding it to my wish list.
Love your cards. Definitely see a "case" or 2 or 3 here.
I really enjoyed your thin lit cards. My favorite was your third card. Liked the way you extended the card and loved the way you stamped Santa and his reindeer.
To our blog hop medic extraordinaire…
Always good to have a crafty medic in the hop who knows how to stamp, cut and flip a project from all sides. Not to mention one who remembers to use All is Calm as more than a statement. {grin}
Love all the flip cards Miss Stefanie. Especially the Holiday Home one – Santa sets off that curve perfectly. Cool combinations you created with several of my favorite stamp sets from this years holiday catalog.
Hugs and love friend and thanks for hopping.
Hi Stefanie, thank you for being part of the blog hop. It's always a pleasure to see your wonderful projects. I love that you've concentrated on the Thinlit flip cards, especially since you've managed to make each so distinctively different even though you've stayed within the same colour palette.
The snowflake CASE is beautifully crafted. The second one, with the circle thinlit, has such a great variety of coordinating products. It must dazzle your customers to see just how well SU! products compliment each other. Your third card, the extended circle, is my favourite. Partly that's because you've used my favourite pattern from the All is Calm DSP, but also because you've kept to such subtle colours and then added those "pops" of red. Very effective! And the Santa with the sleigh nicely curving over the circle—perfect! TFS
Glad to see that you appreciate a 'blue Christmas' too, Stefanie! You used my favourite sets & dsp 🙂 Great cards – thanks for sharing.
Stefanie, I love all of your thinlit cards! I always forget to use them and you've offered 3 wonderful samples!
I just love that there is a unifying theme to your post – all flip cards, and all the same color combination – and on top of that, each card is fabulous on its own!
