Such a bittersweet time of year… So much excitement about new products and a new catalogue, but so much sadness about losing old favourites. And those favourites is what this blog hop is all about, we’re sharing out favourite retiring products, the ones we’re sure to miss.
You probably got here from Deb’s blog, so welcome!
My first two cards were a custom commission for a friend. He wanted custom cards for his mother and mother in law. I love doing custom commissions because I get to play with any of my products, and don’t have to worry about them being current at all.
For the first one, my retiring products are the Apothecary Framelits, and the Dictionary background stamp. I did throw in some of the Sahara Sand Lace Trim that’s carrying over from the Occasions Catalogue into the new Annual Catty!
This card is a little more subtle. I used some retired ribbon, but what I actually wanted to show was the colours. All of these colours are sticking around, but I found the combination using the Color Coach. This tool is invaluable to finding new colour combinations, and I’ll be sad to see it go.
Last but not least, I used the retiring In Color Sequins to add a pop to this fun bokeh card! We’re making this card at Technique Club next week, and I’m totally stoked! I’m also excited that the letters framelits are carrying over, and there’s something new and awesome that coordinates with them as well… stay tuned for more on that!
Thanks for checking out my projects, now you can hop along to Gail’s blog, or go backwards to Deb’s. Any of the available products I used are available to order through your demonstrator.
Great projects all Stefanie! Love the Bokeh technique. I've been doing it a lot lately. Your custom commission cards are awesome. I'm sure both mothers loved them. The flower card is so fun. I have to admit I haven't used that stamp set a lot – even though I loved it when I first saw it.
I enjoyed all your cards. The Apothecary Framelits with the Dictionary background is so interesting, and I love your choice of colors.. The Petite Petals bouquet was very cute. Thanks for sharing.
I love your custom cards!
Great projects, Stef! I think my favourite is the bouquet card; or maybe the bokeh technique. Then again – oh, they're all great! Did I say that already? 😉
Your bouquet card is absolutely fabulous Stephanie. I really like the multi layers of flowers. What fun to make customized cards, I agree its fun to use stuff from your stash even if it is retired. Beautiful job on all your cards!
I really like all of your cards. Again the bokeh technique that I really need to work with.
Your friend must have been very pleased, because those cards are wonderful.
Stefanie, what beautiful projects. I love the bokeh card, but the first one is also my favorite. stunning
Beautiful projects, Stefanie! I do love that custom card, but they're all lovely. Your bokeh Thanks is so happy!
Hi Stefanie, thanks so much for continuing to be part of this wonderful Blog Hop. What a great assortment of cards. I especially like your Mother's Day bouquet card. That and the Bokeh card really pop. The torn edges of the latter really add a lot of interest.
Stefanie your bouquet is just beautiful! Looks good enough to hand to someone! And I really like your Bokeh card with the little letters–nice combo.
