I shared this card with you last week, which I made for a #StampingDiversity swap. It celebrates LGBTQ2+ individuals “coming out”. I particularly wanted to highlight the struggles of children and youth, many of whom are disowned and abandoned when they come out. Some of these young people are lucky enough to find a ‘chosen family’ who supports them and allows them to be the best they can be.
Here’s a look at some more cards from this swap! I’ve included links to more information on some of the holidays, occasions, and celebrations these cards represent so that you can learn more about them.
Carolyn Hansen-Henderson made this beautiful card for Remembrance Day, a day observed in many countries around the world by different names on November 11.
Diverting to the more fun and cuddly, let’s not forget to congratulate new fur-parents with this card made by Catherine Brown.
Danielle Diaz made this fun fold card perfect for a wedding for two women!
International Coffee Day is another important observance that Jill Phillips shared with us!
Laurie LaRose made this bright and colorful Diwali card. This festival of lights is celebrated by Hindus, Jains, and Sikhs around the world.
Linda Briel shared a beautiful card with an Arabic saying often used by Muslims when celebrating Eid al-Fitr, or the breaking of the fast after Ramadan.
Lorraine Pye introduced us to “gotcha” day, which is a celebration of the anniversary of an adoption.
Michele Cox made this stunning solstice card featuring aurora over a forest scene.
And finally Michelle McGeorge made this super cute card for National Donut Day, complete with a spot to put a Tim Hortons gift card!
Thank you all who participated in this swap for your wonderful work, and everyone who has supported and embraced #StampingDiversity!
