Tonight marks the beginning of the Jewish holiday of Purim, which commemorates the saving of the Jewish people from Haman, an Achaemenid Persian Empire official who was planning to kill all the Jews, as recounted in the Book of Esther. Common celebratory practices are masquerading, much like others do at Halloween, burning of an effigy of Haman, and recounting the story of Esther. pastries called Hamantaschen (Hamans pockets) are also baked and eaten, which form the focal points of my card!
Here’s a look at how I made the Hamantaschen on my card, complete with sparkly filling!
Happy stamping!
